Well i strongly believe in natural home remedies. I was raised on them and my children were too. I am not only talking about herbs and vitamins that you take as supplements. I am talking about the food you eat, the lifestyle you live and the attitude you have. They are all a big part of natural health.

I remember when my children would go spend the night with their friends they would come home and tell me we ate healthier than anyone they know! One of my kids told me they didn’t even like chips! That is what other families had for snacks. We had fruit, vegetables, milk, juice, cheese, and water.

One of the best results of our healthy diet was not having sick children. I can count on one hand the times all four of them went to the doctor in a 15 year period. I did not take them in for ‘check-ups’ once a year like they want you to. They had lemon and honey for a cough, a tepid bath for a high temperature, euclyuptus oil in some vaseline rubbed on the chest, back and neck for congestion. The same good old fashioned medicine my mother used on me. And to this day they are some of the healthiest people I know.

Happiness and health come from inside the body. They go hand in hand. Just imagine that your thumb hurts. It will start hurting. Then imagine that you can take that pain away. It will go away. Your mind plays a key role in your health. When I would get hurt my mom would not get rattled. She would clean me up, give me a big hug and send me on my way. By doing that she let me know that was no way to get attention. It was just a part of growing up. She did not give me food for comfort, she gave me a big hug. I soon forgot about the hurt and went on with my day. I must thank her for the example she set for me.
